Meet Gina Jansen. Gina is a senior lawyer with diverse and vast experience in both the public and private sectors. Gina graduated from Canterbury University in 1999 with degrees in Law and Arts (a double major in political science and New Zealand history). In 2010 Gina graduated from the University of Auckland with a Masters in Taxation (MTaxS) with Honours.
Prior to establishing Gina Jansen Lawyers in 2007, Gina was employed in the tax team of a “Top Six” New Zealand law firm based in downtown Auckland, dealing mostly with international corporate clients. Gina also spent several years working as a litigator and legal adviser to staff at Inland Revenue, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and several law firms in Canterbury. Gina is a highly experienced litigator, regularly appearing in the High and District Courts for tax matters and including bankruptcy, liquidation and trust matters. Gina’s portfolio includes advising small to medium business clients on all residential and commercial property matters, all tax and Inland Revenue matters, including investigations/audits, voluntary disclosures, disputes, tax arrears and bankruptcy/liquidations, relationship property, formation and maintenance of trusts and business planning for personal and commercial clients. Gina’s network of business colleagues is wide and our clients get to enjoy the trusted and well established networks of expertise that Gina has personally built up over the years in areas of banking, mortgage brokers, finance, accounting, insurance and financial planning, as well as with other lawyers who are situated all over New Zealand.
In her downtime, Gina is keen on fitness and, along with her partner Todd, they own classic 1960s Chevrolet Impalas. Gina and Todd enjoy spending time at their farm in the Waikato.
